The following is a guest post from Nick Cristey; owner of Hannah Montana Zone - a Miley Cyrus fansite.
Amongst other ways of one way link building such as social bookmarking (preferably on “dofollow” sites) and article writing, blog comment posting is a popular one. If you don’t know that commenting on people’s blogs who do not use “nofollow” increases your backlinks, then start finding blogs that you can comment on as part of your link building campaigns (starting with Link Building Bible!)
There’s a Wordpress Plug-in that blog owners can place on their blog that searches a commenter’s RSS feed and posts the title of the most recent feed at the bottom of a blog post with a link to that post. This plug-in is called CommentLuv. Link Building Bible has just added it to their blog. It is a fantastic way for a blog owner to encourage comments on their blog.
The problem here is how to find relevant blogs on which to comment on - and of course Google comes to our aid!
Simply go to Google and type this in, replacing “Your Keyword” with, well, your keyword:
Your Keyword “Enable CommentLuv which will try and get your last blog post, please be patient while it finds it for you”
At the moment of writing this, there are 555,000 blogs that contain that bit of text, which is 555,000 blogs you can leave your comment on. By simply adding your keyword at the beginning of the search term, you can reduce this larger number to blogs relevant to your niche. For example, say we are targeting the keyword “Technology”. To find all the relevant blogs, type in Google:
Technology “Enable CommentLuv which will try and get your last blog post, please be patient while it finds it for you”
And we get about 200 blogs we can comment on. Assuming that our comments are not spam and add value to the blog post, that’s 400 backlinks for this one term (One for your anchor text link, and one for your most recent RSS feed)! Of course the above is a single niche example which is quite limited but you get the idea!
Now it’s time to change the term to our other niche related keywords we are targeting, and start commenting!
NOTE: When posting comments on other people’s blogs, do not spam. Make your comment helpful and useful to help preserve the “dofollow” community. (What is dofollow? Find out here.)
UPDATE: Easily find DoFollow blogs with CommentLuv on themwith our new DoFollow Blogs Search Engine, DoFollow Diver!

Very interesting. I cut and pasted that exact search: Technology “Enable CommentLuv which will try and get your last blog post, please be patient while it finds it for you”. Into Google and it came back with 110,000 results.
How did you find the 200 sites?
Minnesota Investment Property’s last blog post..Stupid Property Repairs #2
Hey… when you click through the pages at the bottom, it starts lowering the amount of results that it actually did find, because a lot of them are repeated results. Each of those results is a blog you can go to that somewhere mentions “technology” and if you post your comment, you get the anchor text link ,and the CommentLuv link.
Hope that helps!
Just because the blog owner is using CommentLuv doesn’t mean the link is dofollow.
You’re right… but being a “top commenter” on a relevant blog, is free advertising.
lol, I actually had somebody find one of my blogs the other day using this technique. Although, in that case, he just searched “CommentLuv + Personal Growth”.
If you’re someone who likes to network through commenting, you might as well try to find blogs that use CommentLuv.
… an added benefit that I’ve found is that if I know I am going to comment on blog using this plugin, I have to make sure my latest post is something I actually want people to see. Basically it encourages me to write more posts.

I think this is a great tool to encourage user participation by rewarding them for adding meaningful content to the blog. Blogging should be an interaction between the reader and writer. Increased comments on your blog has search benefits for the blog(ger) and commentluv gives a nice plug to the commenter. Seems like a nice match if it doesn’t become a spam magnet.
Now this is a beautiful tip. Customizing search results in this way is a great way of getting some useful info, and it helps a lot that many helpful link-building/traffic-increasing services have the same text in them.

It would be a great idea to use the plugin on my site about online security, antivirus programs, etc, but unfortunately I am running Joomla, so I think I should look for a corresponding plugin. Until I find it, I will just turn off coments and login capability…
This is a plugin that i find useful in that it gives the commenter a reward for the contribution the have made when the leave a comment on a website.

I’m new to blogging, but this seems like an excellent idea. It both encourages commenters (spammers can still be moderated) and also keeps commenters’ anchor text clean, and rewards them with an extra back link. thanks for this info.

Very cool technique! Now I need to research commentLuv and install this widget on my personal blog. Thanks for the link juice and the cool tip.
I just tried it, and the first one that came up was a nofollow blog anyway…
Yah, there’s no way to make it show only dofollow blogs, but you can use my dofollow blogs search engine to search for dofollow blogs, and you can sort out the ones with dofollow CommentLuv.
Is it wrong that I used this trick to find this post and leave this comment? LOL. I guess we will see once it’s moderated. Ha.

Yes… read my posts on How to Determine if a Link Is Dofollow or Nofollow.
I always wonder would enabling DoFollow on your own blog does to your PR - do you leak too much google juice?
Honestly… I don’t know, my site isn’t to that point yet, as it’s only been through 1 PR update, and my site was still too new.
In any matter, PageRank for your own site doesn’t matter too too much until you start getting into 6’s, etc… you can still rank high w/o page rank and being dofollow.
I have dofollow comments, dofollow commentluv, and dofollow top commenters…. plus I am fairly liberal with dofollow linking in posts to good sites… more liberal than most I’ve seen… and I am still ranking higher on Google for link building, a pretty hard niche to rank for. So is there some affect, probably, am I suffering from it? nah..,.
Thanks for the valuable tip. I have checked and most of the found blogs are dofollow because there is no point of installing CommentLuv and reward commentators with 2 worthless links instead of 1.
Commenting on blogs with CommentLuv has definitely helped my deep linking strategy.
