There are ways to automate the pruning of dofollow and nofollow sites instead of doing it manually.

As for requiring multiple comments before allowing dofollow may not be a good idea if commenters do not hang out in your blog. This is more applicable to forums such as my link building community where most topics are consistent with the forum's theme.

The "unpruned" do follow lists are a problem that will be perpetual due to the fact that many webmasters will use a do follow plugin with the hopes of getting free content by way of comments but they quickly realize that it simply leads to a barrage of spam comments. It is simply human nature to try to get as much as you can without giving up much, so once they get on search engines/lists, etc. they turn the plugins off.

Commentluv plugin is very fantastic. I always recommend the blogger who is having blog that always use some plugin like this. Even tom commenter is also best so that the visitor who is posting regular comment will be satisfied by viewing his name in top commentor.
Also regarding spammer I would like to inform all blog owner that never make the comment link dofollow unless commenter reach 20post and that too with unique and relevant reply.
Specify at the bottom of your post that "After specific number of comment you post will be do follow. Have patient and don't spam"
I am sure breakaway no one will do spam and you will get relevant replies and genunie even great traffic.
Thanks

I like the keywordluv plugin as it allows people to use keywords but allows people to talk to each other as it will also have their nickname or real name. This makes conversation a lot easier between commenters as you are able to communicate by name instead of by keyword.

The keywordLuv plugin is great, I am a huge fan. I have found that it generates a lot of comments. It also makes leaving a comment like this, where I want to promote one of my sites feel a lot more honest. Cheers for using it.

I agree with you about the need to maintain your list. If you find one supposedly do follow that's really a no - follow, it really destroys the credibility for all the other links!

I like the idea of the comment love - but I also like the keyword luv features. There are many small businesses needing those keywords. I feel that as long as they read the article and take time to notice the advertisements - then everyone is getting what they want. The fact is - for now, the search engines want those links. Hopefully it will continue to change and the internet will become more efficient.
