While I was checking a site’s backlinks this weekend, I found a few places that are good to add your site to, in order to get some easy one way backlinks. These sites aren’t going to boost you to #1 by themselves, but they will definitely help out, and one will even give you some great exposure. Also, two of them are PR 5 and above. They are all free backlinks and easy to get.

Top of Blogs
This is my favorite find this weekend for 2 reasons. 1) I just got a pr 5 backlink on a pr 5 site. And, 2) I haven’t seen any other bloggers writing about this site, so that makes me feel special, or something.

This is a normal Top List blog ranking service… except that it’s a PR 5 and some of the first pages of the categories have a higher Page Rank (such as the SEO section that I am linked on.) You add your blog, then add their little button to your website, and there you go! You get a backlink on their site! Best of all, the link is a dofollow link. (What is dofollow?) You can’t complain getting free backlinks!

Globe of Blogs
This site lists blog owners and their blogs by city, state, and birthday. It is a PR 6 and some of their inside pages have higher PR. It depends on your country, city and state, and also your birthday. But, as the site keeps going through PageRank updates, it’ll continue to give some good pagerank to their internal pages.

UPDATE: I removed the free backlinks opportunity that was an auto-approve directory… the submit link page wasn’t working, and it’s probably not the best idea anyway. Please use the above two strategies anyway… they can get you some good PR backlinks.

Enjoy these for now… I have a review of a professional paid link building service/tip coming up this week. But, if you don’t want those paid link building services, then you can always enjoy the free backlinks you get from commenting on my site!

Never go for auto approval directories, never!
I have to suggest this because they are becoming a big load of spam. This is really true as i myself had an auto approval directory which i never used to moderate, just used to see how well it is being spammed.

My hope is that he realizes it’s being spammed and then goes to admin-edited… and then my site’s on there already. =)

Did anyone notice that the Link Submission Form at “GetFreeLinks” is broken?
It keeps telling me that my “URL is not valid”

I deleted my link to that page…. I probably shouldn’t have linked to it in the first place… But hey, I’m learning too, just like the rest of you… I teach you guys as I learn and find great opportunities.

I saw top of blogs and signed up today before you even made this post. I saw it while looking for mentions of the “dofollow diver” for my blog post.

Globe of Blogs looks interesting. Seems like it’s a “Yellow Pages” specific to blogging. Like Grant said though, I’m a little worried about the last one.

Cool stuff. I’m gonna take a look at these. I use blogs primarily to build my backlinks after starting off with a few directory submissions. If you can get hold of some blog entries with your keywords in the title, you’re in business! Adaptiv Link Building SEO

I just added you to my favorites. Lots of good stuff here and I could use it. I went from a blogspot blog with a PR of 8 to my own wordpress blog and now I’m slogging my way back up again. The irony is that I didn’t even try to get a good PR with the blogspot blog, which was “a mostly humorous look at unschooling and family life”. I just posted away, added whoever I liked to my blogroll, posted to some home schooling and family life carnivals and shot up to PR8 in about a year or less.

Now, I have three self-hosted wordpress blogs and only one of them, Lill’s List, is getting any traffic. I find it really strange that the blogspot blog I put the least effort into did the best.

    Shine On,
    Lill
