Link Building Tip: Easily Find DoFollow Blogs Search String

Submitted by R.J. Breakaway Adams on Thursday, 22 May 200819 Comments

I think it’s no secret that we offer a DoFollow Blog Search Engine called DoFollow Diver. It provides a very easy to search group of hand-added dofollow blogs. It also features over 400 dofollow blogs (as of writing this). But, in the grand scheme of things, sometimes those 400 just aren’t enough. We link builders always need more and more and more ways to build links. Well, I found a great little “footprint” search string of a dofollow wordpress plugin, that allows you to easily find dofollow blogs.

Just open Google, or your favorite search engine, and type in:

“Comments links could be nofollow free”

And it’s that easy… you will be able to find hundred of dofollow blogs!  That is the footprint of the NoFollow Free wordpress plugin.  This plugin allows people to make their blog dofollow.

NOTE: This plugin does allow webmasters to enable dofollow comments on their blog, after X number of comments.  You can hate on me for supporting such blogs, but I am firmly against spam.  If you are going around only posting one link on a blog, and never returning, I don’t support that, which is why I support blogs that are dofollow, just after a certain number of comments.  Plus, the more comments you have on a blog, the better chances for your comment being on the higher page rank pages when the Google PageRank update happens.

So, enjoy this search string… I will definitely be using it to add blogs to our dofollow blog search engine.

Share and Enjoy: These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages.

I totally support a Restricted User policy that limits Comment Links until you reach a certain level of posts. Many of the top Webmaster Forums follow a similar graduated approach, to keep spammers at bay.

I love these custom search strings which can find goodies like these. Some other good miscellaneous ones to check out are:

“Enable CommentLuv which will try and parse your last blog post, please be patient while it finds it for you” (which you incidentally rank first for)

“inurl:?menu=free_stumbles” (if you want to get a few free automated Stumbles on your site)

I also used fast-blog-finder.exe to look for dofollow blogs but then I found that so called dofollow blogs had nofollow tag and after I deleted blog I did not use, software looked for it again…so your tip is the best!

I just found this website which is a little hard to believe. I’m on the search for dofollow blogs for dogs in particular, hopefully this site will help. Wish me luck.

I don’t think you should share this sort of information. It will only get abused. When I had a blog it was dofollow and I would always get people commenting with link text like “web design lancaster” and “SEO Utah”.

Good idea. Haven’t used that particular plugin, but isn’t the string configurable? Another good footprint to seek out is a substring of “Enable CommentLuv which will try and parse your last blog post, please be patient while it finds it for you” - although these are not always doFollow links.

DoFollow Diver is a pretty nice tool for finding DoFollow blogs. You can also use Google’s image search, and search for “u comment i follow” (be sure to include the quotes). There is a U COMMENT I FOLLOW badge that a lot of bloggers use, and this search will yield such blogs. Sometimes the image isn’t the badge, but the blog the image comes from invariably is. Very odd, but hey, it works!
