Don’t Just Read About Link Building, GO BUILD LINKS!
As someone who writes about link building, I have to sit and read stuff, and search for stuff about link building. Then, I have to sit down and write about link building in order to share it with you. Then, I usually try to check my backlinks. With all of that stuff about link building going on for me, I don’t get around to actually building links with the information I am reading and writing about.
Well, I am going on vacation for a week, so I won’t be link building… but here’s your chance. I only have 1 post scheduled for Tuesday. Take a break from reading about link building tips and strategies (or go diving into my archive for some great information you may have missed if you just joined us.)
Use the 5-10 minutes a day you spend at my site and go build some links with that time. Depending on what you do, you can get a good couple hundred more links than you would have gotten. I have 2 homework assignments for you:
1) Use our DoFollow Blog Search Engine to find some new dofollow blogs to comment on.
2) Check out my Internal Link Building series, and implement those strategies on your site…. especially going back into older posts and creating links to your newer posts…
Doing these things will help your site for the short term and for the long term….
Also, feel free to subscribe to my feed to find out when I will be back. I have some great posts coming!

It’s funny that you posted this. I was just sitting here beating myself up for reading my RSS feeds instead of building links. Too often we just keep reading and reading without building those links. Well, I better get to it….
Anyone want to have a link building competition?
Money Managements last blog post..Technical Difficulties
I know you’ve commented on this before, but I as someone who’s blogs are included in your DoFollow search engine, I would Strongly Advise people to make sure that the comments you leave actually ADD VALUE to the blog post you’re responding to.
Yesterday I had someone leave 3 comments on one of my blogs. The “name” they used was keywords for the BANS store they were linking to.
I don’t have a problem that he/she was linking to a BANS site, I have many of those sites myself.
But …
Since the comments were all basically “great post”, “I like the picture”, etc. Basically all one like nothingness.
Because of this, I had no guilty feeling about sending all those comments off to Akismet land.
Link building Has To Be a two-way street.
If we are going to go get someone’s google juice, we really should at least put a little effort into actually responding to the post in question.
Just my opinion,
Todd

Absolutely Todd. Now that I have regular comments coming in, I have no guilty feelings either

There is nothing I enjoy more then trying all these new techniques. I love how up to date I keep with this blog between it and mixedmarket I have enough to do.
Sometimes I just think to myself, “Hey, this link building stuff looks pretty cool.” I make posts about it, think about, decide I’ll do it sometime, and never do. I think I’m going to aim to make 50+ dofollow blog comments today, starting with this one

Yes, please send those people to Akismet-ville…. i hate spammers, and I send them there too…
I had set it up to be published, and with very limited internet access (75 cents / minute), i didnt see that it hadn’t been posted on Tuesday, so i posted it ASAP
Looks like we have a lot of folks that are taking your advice!
Yup, I’m really a total noob at blogging and a lot of “good” bloggers I’m reading are basically saying the same thing. Build, build links as that’s the thing that will bring more money. I’m new here and definitely love your dofollow search engine.

I liked this idea of setting aside 15-20 a min a day doing link building what a fantastic idea, I know for myself it’s easy to get lost reading and surfing and forget what it is you need to do and that’s build up some backlinks..
Kinda funny really because i bet I’ve wasted an entire day reading all your tips, this site has taught me alot and I’m always on the hunt through here to find new nuggest of gold..i.e. internal linking strategy, wow I never considered that one before..thanks

I am personally not interested in a link building competition?
I am still trying to build up my link. It is going to take time. Lost of time.
