Link Building Tip: Great backlinks from Searchles.com

Submitted by R.J. Breakaway Adams on Saturday, 19 July 200830 Comments

I have found a great site for link building, in that you can join different groups, and have the articles submitted not only to your profile, but also to each one of the groups.

That site is http://www.searchles.com  It’s a PR 6 dofollow social media site.

For those who didn’t read the Mr Wong article, here’s basically what you do on Searchles:
1)    You join the site.
2)    You join a few different related groups for whatever site you’ll be submitting your blog posts and inner pages from.
3)    If there aren’t any related groups (which is doubtful) but if there aren’t, then create a group yourself!
4)    You submit the article, choosing to send the links to the related groups also.
5)    Now you have multiple backlinks… one on your profile page, and one per group that you joined.
6)    Now, on Mr. Wong, the tag pages had no follow links.  But, on Searchles, the tag pages are dofollow links.  So, you can add 3-4 tags, and have 3-4 groups, and get 7-9 different dofollow links per submission.

Since you are submitting all of the pages and posts from your site, this is building great links to your inner pages, something Google really likes.

So, if you’ve already submitted all of your pages and posts to Mr Wong, now you have a whole new dofollow social media site to submit to!

Also, as an added bonus, there is a fairly active community there in some of the groups, so you’re not only getting related links to your inner pages, but you can also get some good traffic from like-minded individuals who are a part of the groups and paying attention to all of the new posts to the groups.

That’s a super tip - putting your content to work for you in social media is the best form of free marketing out there.

I’m looking for some input on a backlinking prospecting service - right now, we have large publishers like Conde Net and Reuters using it, but I want to get some direct feedback from SEOs.

The beta test is free - more info can be found here: http://www.attributor.com/link_building_beta

thanks - feel free to email me at rich(at)attributor(dot)com if you have questions.

“Tricks” should not be a word that one uses (since it connotes “Sneaky” or “Illegal” which of course is not Googlicious behavior).

I believe that we should get the word “trick” out of our vocabulary: use terms like “One more cog in one’s link building arsenal” or something like that! (j/k ;) )

Are you sure that they really pass link juice?

I have read that many of these sites make it look like it’s a do follow link. But then they use some clever scripting so no PR gets passed?

For instance some of them don’t use rel=”nofollow” but a redirect script.

  • Breakaway said:

Yup… i am positive… yes, some do that, but it’s still fairly easy to see if you’re looking for redirections…. thats why you need to stay clear of some Dofollow Social Media lists, as there are some sites on those that do redirects…

    Hey there,

Awesome blog buddy. So I added 6 backlinks to my post using searchles and it got de-indexed ! Does this happen sometimes ? I’ve seen this behavior occur where one of my pages will be de-indexed and then come back and rank well.

This time it seems that adding 6 baklinks from searchles and a handful of others at the same time (from commenting in blogs) triggered this. I didn’t get more than 10 backlinks total but they were all received in a very short amount of time.

Do you think that Google caught me with my hand in the cookie jar? ;0

    Please advise. Many Thanks,

    – Shaka

Yah, it depends on how new your site is….. a lot of times with blog posts, Google likes to put up newest stuff right away, especially in some niches….. newest stuff goes to the top…. and then it settles down.

But, read about the sandbox effect and see if it relates to your site.

But i have to tell yah, i have done more than 10 links in a day….. more than 50 sometimes….. and no negative effect.

Google dances around… internet marketing isnt a get rich quick thing… but, if you build links, it will definitely set your up very very well for the future. I am already seeing great benefits from some work on sites 2-3 months ago…..

Great post. But what about the spam issue? When we just post our own sites / articles, how big is the chance that we’ll be seen as spammers by the community?

  • Breakaway said:

I would not call it spam if you are posting articles related to the groups that you join… and really, who cares what others think… this isn’t high school… it’s internet marketing. You aren’t just submitting your article to contribute, you’re submitting it to build links back to your site so your site can make you money.

Like i’ve told other people… not every tip here will be for everyone. Some will feel uneasy with some tips, others won’t. Pick what works for you and discard what doesn’t.

Nice post. I personally like Searchles but it can be discouraging when you submit an article and some jokers immediately give you a 1 rating without even having read your article. Other than that, Searchles is far better than most of the other social bookmarking and social news sites.
