I previously had a guest post here on Link Building Bible about Using New Directories to Get Free Backlinks.  The guest writer wrote about submitting your articles to new directories, in order to get listed quicker, in turn having the link crawled and counted quicker.  He had a link to his website, where he had a huge list of directories for link building.

Well, I have come across a great SEO Friendly Directory List.

You can find that list here at Directory Maximizer.

Scroll down to where you see a link for “our directory list” and click that link.

As of writing this, they have 800+ SEO Friendly Directories, with links to the directory for easy browsing.  They even have a little button which lists the PageRank of each directory.  Directories can be very beneficial with regards to link building, and this site has done the hard work finding the ones that are SEO friendly (don’t use redirects, are dofollow, etc.)

But, submitting to directories, and let’s be honest, link building in general, can be very, very boring and tedious.  I have a site dedicated to link building, and I still find link building to be very, very boring.  That’s why there are people who are willing to do the boring work, and get paid to do it.

Directory Maximizer is one of those places.  If you don’t want to spend any money for link building, then just go to the list above and start manually submitting to the directories.

But, if you’d like links to your site to appear in some good SEO friendly directories, and don’t want to have to do the work, then I’d definitely suggest using Directory Maximizer and have them submit to the directories for you.

Here’s what you get if you choose to let them do the work for you:

  • Permanent links… with no reciprocal linking required.  That means one-way links to your site.
  • As mentioned above, SEO friendly directories only are used.
  • They allow you to choose 5 different titles and descriptions, for more “natural” looking submissions.
  • There are a bunch of category choices, and a wide range of niches.
  • You can submit to all, or specific directories, submit by PageRank, and even control the pace at which they make the submissions, so that you don’t get way too many links at once.
  • They greatly increase the probability of your site being approved in the directories by making sure they meet all of the guidelines and post in the most relevant category.
  • They are constantly adding new sites so you can always get new links.
  • They help to avoid duplicate submissions on future orders (if you choose to not submit to all) because they keep track of previous submissions.
  • They provide you with live reports of the submission progress.
  • You can manage and submit multiple sites to the directories from one account.
  • You can even earn FREE SUBMISSIONS every time you use their services.
  • You can place orders for as little as $5 (think, you just got a lil extra cash in your paypal, why not link build with it.  You don’t have to spend hundreds at a time!)
  • And the best part, each submission is only 14cents!  So, that’s 100 submissions for only $14!

Click here to sign-up for Directory Maximizer, and let them do the directory submissions for you.

Or, if you don’t want to spend money, just use their freely available list of SEO friendly directories and start submitting to the sites yourself, and get some great backlinks!

I recently wrote about some dofollow social media sites and one of those was Mister Wong.  This PR 7 dofollow social media site is awesome.  While doing some link building, I decided to give it a try, and as I was playing around, I found a FANTASTIC way to submit articles to Mister-Wong quickly, and so that it appears on multiple pages, instead of just your profile (which means more and more backlinks).

Follow these steps to get multiple backlinks:

1)    Sign-up for Mister Wong.

2)    If you have Firefox, go to the “Creating Bookmarks Page” and install the Firefox add-on, and restart your browser.

3)    Then, on the Mister-Wong site, go to the “Groups Page”.  Here you can join or create new groups.  Now there are advantages and disadvantages to both creating and joining groups.  For creating a group, you ensure that there will be less bookmarks submitted per group, meaning all of your links get the maximum link juice.  But, since you’ll be the only one in the group, it’ll only be linked to pretty much from your page only.  Now if you join an existing group, you have to share the link juice with all of the other people’s bookmarks, but there’s also more links pointing to the group, since there’s multiple users in the group.  It’s a balance, and I suggest joining some and creating some.

4)    I suggest you be a part of 10 groups at least.  Now, when naming your groups, you want to name them to be something related to what your site is about.  For Link Building Bible, some possible ones could be “SEO” “links” “backlinks” “blogs” “ blogging” “linking” “linkbuilding” etc… (There is a 12 character maximum for group names… so be creative… I could do “links 1” “links 2” “backlinks 2” “seo 3” etc.)

5)    Now, start using the Firefox add-on buttons to add sites to Mister-Wong (or just navigate to the site and submit your posts and pages there from the Add page, though it takes longer.)

6)    When adding, make sure you submit to as many groups as possible and to ones that are relevant.   Then, for each group you submit to, that’s an extra link.  So, if you have 50 pages on your site, and you submit each one to 10 groups each, that’s  550 links. (50×10= 500 for the groups, and 50 on your Mister-Wong profile page.)

7)    BEWARE: Using many tags is useless, since the links on the Tag pages are nofollow.  But the links on the group pages are dofollow, as well as the links on your profile.  The tags are basically to help add relevance to your article, so do use a few tags, just don’t go overboard thinking it’s going to help you with link building, as it really won’t.

Follow these steps, and you’ll be able to create many backlinks to your site.  To give your profile and your groups even more link juice, and more crawlability, find ways to link to your Mister-Wong profile from other pages, and find ways to link to your Mister-Wong groups from related pages.  (A good way to do it would be to leave a comment on a related Gather article to your Mister-Wong groups.)

I have previously written about various queries that you can use to find some good places for link building.  One of these was a Dofollow Link Building Query.  Also, another one that was a guest post on Why CommentLuv Will Expand Your Link Building Efforts, mentioned a great Google query to find more ways to build backlinks.

Well, the boys over at Exposed SEO have compiled a massive list of just search queries in order to find places to build more backlinks to your website.  Now, by massive, I mean massive.  The grand total?  14,780 queries!  That’s just insane!  A lot of them are pretty similar, but they are all unique, and can be used to find places for link building.

Now, you may be tempted to go spam all of the sites you find.  I don’t condone spamming.  It’s lame, and really, if you build relationships with sites and continually post, then you’ll be able to get more and more links, instead of posting a link once and moving on.

All of that being said, enjoy this massive list!  Happy Link Building!
